Shawnee Storm
About Shawnee Storm

Special Olympics Shawnee Storm offers nine competitive sports for individuals with disabilities ages eight years and up.  We have over 45 athletes and 25 coaches on our team. We compete in tennis, aquatics, golf, softball and cheerleading on a local and regional level.  Competition for volleyball, soccer, bowling and basketball are on a local, regional and state level.   Practices for each sport are primarily located in Shawnee and are typically once a week with the exception of softball, which is twice a week.   All sporting events are structured so that all skill levels can be successful.  We have an annual Halloween dance and costume party as well as a swim party in late summer.  Shawnee Storm is solely run and organized by volunteers, parents and coaches who go all-out to help our athletes improve and succeed in every sport, and to have fun at the same time.
